Traffic
Chiang Rai features like whole Thailand has an excellent transport infrastructure. Numerous means of transport are available. Within Chiang Rais and the surrounding area, in addition to the regular tuk tuks and taxis, the driving service providers Bolt and Grab are available. The road network is well developed. For the other routes there are numerous bus connections, which start from the two bus terminals in the city. For €10 you can travel comfortably with the VIP Greenbus in around 3.5 hours Chiang Rai after Chiang Mai . You can get there within 75 minutes via the airport close to the city Bangkok. The flights go several times a day. Another direct connection from Chiang Rai follows Phuket .
Health
In the big cities of Thailand, especially in Bangkok , medical care is very good. In the large hospitals there are doctors who speak English and sometimes even German.
In Chiang Rai there are two private clinics that Kasemrad Sriburin Hospita l, with all medical services at very moderate prices and that Overbrook Hospital , which offers medical treatments of international standard. About 100 years ago this was done by the Christian missionary Dr. Founded by William A. Briggs. Both hospitals have emergency and surgical departments, modern medical equipment and multilingual staff.
Public hospitals: In addition to these two private clinics, there is also the large state hospital Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital with over 750 beds and many local neighborhood clinics. English-speaking staff is rather rare here. Treatments in the public hospitals and clinics are much cheaper than in the private hospitals, but you should be able to speak some Thai or bring someone with you to interpret.

Golf
players come in Chiang Rai and surroundings on the five golf courses at their expense.
Jog

A large selection of excellent restaurants can be found throughout the city. French, Italian and German cuisine are offered in countless restaurants in addition to Thai. A few fast food restaurants also offer a selection of burgers & pizza. Evening entertainment can be found in beer gardens and numerous clubs, while strolling through the night market with its delicious street food stalls or in the Bavarian Beerhouse with a delicious pork knuckle.
Of the numerous sights, the one in particular stands out Singha Park with an area of 12 km², over which the area extends. You have a wonderful view of the area from the Bhu Bhirom Restaurant from, the highest point of the park.

you can rent bikes for the beautiful bike ride there including the zoo with giraffes and the ZIP line.
Universities
The Mae Fah Luang University is a public one university and was established on September 25, 1998. Mae Fah Luang ("Royal Mother from Heaven") was the epithet of Princess Srinagarindra, the mother of who died in 1995, king Bhumibol Adulyadej. Due to the mountainous location of the campus, the facility took until 2004 to be completed.
The number of students has grown from 62 in the founding year 1998 to over 10,000 students in 2012. The university has a total of 11,727 students, of which 10,593 undergraduate and 1.105 graduate Students. Most of the 480 international students get by Myanmar (51%) and China (27%).
After there were initially only two faculties, one for English Studies was planned, several have been added to this day, among others business chinese, agribusiness and Traditional Thai medicine .
